On hearing the name 15th August 1947 (75th Independence Day), a history page turns upside down. The feeling of freedom starts coming in the people. Flag weighing is done with great pomp in schools and offices. In India's independence, Mahatma Gandhi was victorious over truth and non-violence. Many freedom fighters also played an important role in getting freedom.

1857 Revolt

The war of 1857 was a major and important event against the British rule. During the first half century of the 19th century, the East India Company had captured a large part of India. The British took over the entire princely state of India. Charles jone canning was the governor at the time.

India had understood the tricks of the British. Cartridge rumors spread that the fat of cows and pigs was used in the cartridges of the new 'Enfield' rifles. Meanwhile, in March 1857, Mangal Pandey raised his voice against the use of the new rifle and attacked his senior officers.

Mangal Pandey was hanged on April 8, 1857, AD. Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi led the rebels and along with Nana Saheb's general Tatya Tope, marched to Gwalior and captured it. She fought strongly against the British forces, but was eventually defeated by the British.

Gwalior was captured by the British. After him the series of freedom fighters continued. He was martyred fighting the British. Bhagat Singh, along with his two other companions, Rajguru and Sukhdev, were hanged on 23 March 1931.

After a lot of struggle, the country got freedom after the sacrifice and hard work of many freedom fighters. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Boss, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sardar Ballam Bhai Patel, Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, many such freedom fighters played an important role in giving freedom to the country.
